- [Instructor] In this lesson we're going to look at Azure Synapse Analytics. So Synapse is a fully managed analytics service that also helps to ingest, explore, prepare, transform, manage, and even serve data for things like Power BI and machine learning tools. One of its benefits is that you can provision on demand either SQL processing or Spark cluster processing services on the same tool. With the SQL option you can have serverless SQL built in, which spins up nodes as needed, or you can provision dedicated SQL database pools for defined compute. However, they do cost more but of course, give you greater analytical power. If we look in the Synapse workspace within Azure, we can see the different options and some key things to point out here is that we've linked here an ADSL Gen2 account storage account to it and this makes it easier to read and write data from it.
