- [Instructor] In this section, I'd like to talk about the just-in-time delivery of resources to a virtual machine. Most hypervisors will constantly monitor the resource utilization of all guests and will adjust that resource utilization as necessary. The first resource we'll talk about is the processor. In most hypervisors, the number of processors is not going to change very often. An administrator can manually go and make a change but that doesn't happen real often. And typically the hypervisor will not automatically change the number of processors. Some of the more advanced hypervisors on the market, however can automatically change the speed of the processor. So as the needs of a particular guest increase, the hypervisor can present faster and faster processors to that virtual machine. Therefore giving the virtual machine more processing power as needed.
