- Now I'd like to demonstrate how to duplicate a virtual machine in VM-ware workstation. So I have my machine powered off, and I'm going to right click on the name of it. Go to manage and off the manage menu I'll go to clone and clone essentially means to duplicate it. It'll start a wizard for me. There's no options on the first page so I'll click next. But it's asking what I would like to clone, the first option is the current state of the virtual machine and that is what I would like. So I'll click next. For the clone method, I have two options. The, the one that's selected by default, is to create a linked clone which will be a clone that is connected to the original machine and cannot run unless it can access the original machine. What I'd like to do is the second option to create a full clone, which is a complete copy of the virtual machine that is independent of the original. I'll click next. Then I'll need to…
