- As you lay out your design, you may choose to visualize all of your data accurately in the wireframe, or simply use dummy data with pie charts and bar charts as placeholders to update to proper scales during the design. I always choose to create each visualization accurately during the wireframe phase. It's rare that a stakeholder is going to request that we swap out a data visualization for typography, since it would deter from the visual communication of the design and hinder its chances of success. Because of this taking the time to develop your data visualizations during the wireframe phase, will likely save you time in the long run rather than waste it. By creating your data visualizations upfront, you can also pressure test the accuracy of each visualization.
