What your audience needs to hear

- [Instructor] Once you understand your data, you need to think about your audience. What do they need to hear from you about that data? What are they going to do with it? And why should they care? One of the most important things you can do in any data visualization work is to realize that this is an entirely consultative process. You don't simply take data and make visuals out of it without any context. If that were the job of a data visualization practitioner, then you could just crank out a bunch of bar charts and be done with it, but you wouldn't be helping anyone if you did that because every visual accomplishes a different task and enables different understanding. We'll talk more about this later, but in this context, that implies that you need to know what your audience is trying to understand or accomplish, don't you?
