- [Instructor] I'm reasonably certain you guessed what the missing element in this layout is. And of course it's the spine. We haven't got a spine for our document. And what we're going to do is we're actually going to create it from the title block. This is one of the great things about the flexibility of InDesign and about creating something like this. What I'm going to do is hold down the Alt or Option key and drag a copy across, like so. Now I haven't been paying much attention to layers here and normally I would actually split the spine out onto a separate layer for a number of reasons. Mainly, if the actual depth of that, or width of it rather, changed if I was creating for another edition. So what I'm going to do is work on this, let's try and bring it to a place where it's nice and easy to see, which is kind of tricky just at the moment.
