- [Instructor] Once you have a new document open or you're editing an already existing document, you should save it to disk. For example, I'm going to make a change to this document from the Exercise Files folder simply by dragging this frame over. As soon as I do that, InDesign indicates that this document has changed and it tells me that by placing a little asterisk next to the document name in the document tab. The asterisk means this document has changed since the last time I saved it. So let's go ahead and save the file. I'll go to the File menu and I can see that there are three different options for saving in here, Save, Save As, and Save a Copy. So let me talk for a moment about what the differences between these three are. Save is pretty obvious. It's the same as any other software. It simply saves over the current document on disk.
