How recruiters can use generative AI in talent acquisition

- Generative AI can have a positive impact on practically every stage of the talent acquisition process. Here I'll walk you through a wide variety of GenAI use cases within recruiting so you can have a full appreciation of the potential it can bring. We've already talked about using GenAI to create job descriptions and postings, and you can also use GenAI to easily craft effective employer branding and social recruiting content including text, images, audio, and video. When it comes to sourcing, GenAI solutions understand natural language at the grammatical level, so finding people with specific skills becomes a simple task. For example, you can type in, find me people in the Atlanta area who have recent experience implementing Salesforce, and you won't just get keyword matches, you'll get people who actually have the skills you're looking for, as well as adjacent skills to help you identify additional potential candidates. GenAI solutions allow you to easily refine results using a conversational approach. Like these results are good, but I really need people with pharmaceutical industry experience. Moving on to outreach. Using GenAI to craft initial and follow up messages to candidates is becoming common, and some solutions allow you to easily customize and personalized messages to increase effectiveness and response rates. Beyond text, Gen AI can be used to insert on-brand personalized and engaging images, audio and videos to earn responses from passive talent. While pre-screening chatbots are relatively common today, GenAI brings their capabilities to a whole new level for a truly natural human level conversational experience with text-based or video avatar interactions. With access to your company's systems and information, GeneAI can function as the ultimate fact bot regarding company culture, policies, benefits, and more. It can also provide applicants with insights into their status within the process. When it comes to evaluating applicants, recruiters can use GenAI to collaborate with their hiring managers to create and improve pre-screening and interview questions, and create scoring rubrics to help make sure it's a fair and equitable process. The days of having to take notes during conversations with candidates are numbered. As GenAI powered solutions can accurately transcribe, summarize, and highlight initial screening calls and interviews. This allows you to focus on being fully present in the conversation with the candidate rather than taking notes, and nothing is lost in translation when sharing interview transcripts. Once an offer has been accepted, GenAI can be used to facilitate onboarding, providing new employees with customized learning paths based on their skills, background and role. You can also use GenAI to help you brainstorm when developing talent acquisition and DEI strategies. As you can see, GenAI can be used in many ways within talent acquisition to drive better experiences and outcomes. Take a moment to reflect on your talent acquisition process and think about where GenAI in all of its forms could have the greatest impact, and where it would make the most sense to begin.
