- [Presenter] Another common task you'll often be called upon to do as an investment banker is modeling debt issuances. Let's take a look at an example. I'm in the 03 03 Begin Excel file. So we've got here is a firm looking at three different projects, each of which will have an incremental boost to sales and each of which has a cost associated with it. We've gone through and based on different assumptions ranging from sales growth to the dividend payout ratio, we've created a balance sheet and an income statement for the next few years. Now in particular, for any of these projects, the firm is likely to be adding to its notes payable short-term debt and that will bolster its cash position which in turn would allow it to pursue any of these projects.
