- Since Salesforce acquired Tableau, we've seen a few changes to the Tableau product family. The most notable example is CRM Analytics. It's worth doing a small history lesson on this one because the name for this feature set has changed a few times. CRM Analytics was previously called Tableau CRM, and that in turn was previously called Einstein Analytics when it lived exclusively in the Salesforce ecosystem. The key thing to note about CRM Analytics is that it's deeply integrated with Salesforce CRM and relies heavily on their capabilities for the platform. As such, it requires a Salesforce CRM license alongside Tableau and this also ensures that data stays within the CRM rather than being ported out into yet another solution.
