- [Instructor] These days, there are very few constants in the world except knowing that the pace of change is not slowing down and neither are the shifting global rules and regulations that govern artificial intelligence and tech and that makes it challenging for digital marketers to comply. Let's take a 50,000 foot view into the current state of tech regulation and what it means for your brand. Since 2018, the European Union has been leading the charge first with GDPR, the General Data Protection Regulation, that safeguards consumer privacy and puts the onus on brands to get permission to collect customer data. The EU'S 2023 Digital Services Act builds on GDPR and pushes for more transparency in a safer online environment by holding the big platforms responsible for the content on their site and they're moving ahead with an AI Act that they hope will establish global standards for algorithms and generative AI.
