- [Instructor] I'm a data visualization guy. As I've argued in my other LinkedIn learning courses, you have to visualize data to maximize your influence on almost any audience. We're much better at seeing patterns and outliers and trends in data when it's visual than when it's a bunch of numbers on a page or a screen. Even so, I'd be remiss if I didn't make the point that data storytelling can be done without lots of visuals and interactivity. There are tons of sources for great text driven data stories. From newspapers and non-governmental organizations, nonprofits, think tanks, and many others. This example comes from the Urban Institute and the actual content here, nine charts, as the headline advertises, are really just nine chunks of story. Nine sort of segments. The first chunk is the thesis statement. Wealth inequality is growing and it's followed by an explanation for what that is, what that means. Now…
