- Sometimes as a customer you want to pull your hair out, but I've seen it from the other side where customer service people and everybody charged with dealing with customers also wants to pull their hair out. I remember a specific example with a client of mine where nobody wanted to answer the phone and speak to an existing customer because she was rude, she was belligerent, and she would say things that would really hurt people. You can probably guess, but I advocated no longer doing business with this customer. I helped them and coached them to get rid of this customer. But I think one of the most important things we need to learn is how to maintain sanity in customer service. Here's the first tip. If you're dealing with an angry or rude customer, go for a walk or pass off the phone to somebody else.
