Add alternative text

- [Narrator] Every figure in a document needs alternative text added to describe that figure and its context. Microsoft Word gives us the ability to add alternative text to figures. So let's take a closer look. I'm going to work with this figure in the upper right-hand corner of this document. Now to add alternative text to this figure, I'm simply going to click on it to select it, and then I'm going to right click and I'm going to choose Edit Alt Text. Now in older versions of Word, you may need to right click and choose Format Picture. And then you should see an Alt Text tab at the top of that dialog box. But in my version of Word, it's accessible directly inside of the menu after clicking on a figure. Now in the Alt Text panel, here's a text field in which I can add the alternate text. Now this is a logo. And because it's a figure it's already going to be voiced as a graphic. So some people like to add the word…
