- So we've established that we should not apologize for your call within those first seven seconds. And one reason some people do apologize is because they feel like they're just bothering people. They're just a medium to be used for marketing, like a spam email or an annoying website pop-up, but you're not. You're a human being with value to add. A recent Harvard Business Review Study showed that 90% of C-suite executives don't respond to impersonal business-to-business sales approaches. They instead choose to engage with people they trust. So help them see that you're someone they can trust and introduce yourself immediately. You're a stranger and people are skeptical of strangers because we don't know if we can trust them yet or not.
