A virtual network contains network resources and capabilities, including firewalls, virtual routers, load balances, and network management. Virtual network is divided into subnetworks, also known as subnets. Most cloud services are attached to a subnet. These subnets can be either private or public. Public subnets, as the name suggests, accessible over the public internet. Private subnets should be used for cloud services that don't need public access, while public subnets should only be used for services that need to be publicly accessible over the internet, such as web servers.
