- [Instructor] Microsoft Azure is a cloud computing platform provided by Microsoft that includes a mixture of infrastructure as a service, platform as a service and software as a service offerings. The Azure portal is a web interface that lets users access and manage a broad range of services included in the Microsoft Azure platform. The Azure portal is a management plane for Microsoft Azure in a very critical security layer. If a cyber criminal gains access to the Azure portal, they would potentially have unfettered access to your Microsoft Azure cloud environment. To navigate through the hands-on practice demo sections, it is best to have a sandbox environment to explore with. One option is creating an account with Azure. There are free tiers available, but be sure to review the terms and agreements carefully to understand the financial implications of long-term usage.
