- [Instructor] At this point in your design, you're going to need to decide between a standalone primary site or a central administration with child sites. A standalone primary site doesn't mean that it's not connected to active directory, it's still going to be connected to either on premises or an Azure active directory or in a hybrid configuration. However, it just means that it only needs to have a single server installed instead of multiple different servers for your hierarchy. In a standalone hierarchy, all devices can be managed in one location. So you would use a standalone primary site when a single primary site can support management of all your devices and users. The topology is also excellent when your companies have different geographic locations and can be successfully served by a single primary site due to the fact that you may have very good high speed connectivity between those locations.
