From the course: Cert Prep: ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)

The CC exam

- The CC exam is a multiple choice computer-based test that you'll take at a Pearson VUE testing center. The exam lasts for two hours, and contains 100 questions. That means that you'll have a little more than a minute to answer each question. The questions on the exam cover five different domains of cyber security. Domain 1 covers security principles, and makes up 26% of the questions on the exam. In that domain, you'll learn about the basic concepts of information assurance, the risk management process, different types of security controls, security governance, and the ISC-squared code of ethics. The smallest domain, domain 2, covers business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response concepts. It makes up 10% of the test questions. You'll find questions on the purpose, importance, and components of business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response processes. Domain 3, access control concepts, makes up 22% of the CC exam. This domain tests your knowledge of physical and logical access controls. Domain 4, network security, accounts for 24% of the test. To answer questions from this domain, you'll need some basic knowledge of computer networking, network threats and attacks, and network security infrastructure. And finally, the 5th domain, security operations, makes up 18% of the exam questions and tests your knowledge of the ways that IT professionals protect data security, harden systems, apply best practice security policies, and use security awareness training. The questions on the exam are all straightforward, multiple choice questions, providing you with a question followed by four possible answer choices, one of which is correct. This is an entry level certification, so you're not going to find really tricky questions on this test, or questions that look for you to demonstrate a deep understanding of the material. You'll just have standard multiple choice questions that are asking you to provide answers from the material that you've learned.
