At a recent networking event, I met an outstanding business owner who offered me her contact information. So after fishing around in her purse, she emerged with a crumpled business card. She scribbled her updated phone number with a pen on the card and with embarrassment, she handed the card to me. Later, when I tried to call her, the number was illegible, the website was disconnected, and her email bounced back. And unfortunately, we never got in touch. This was a lost opportunity because she wasn't prepared to offer her information. We never got the chance to work together and moreover, it left me with a poor first impression. Let's avoid situations like this. We'll go over etiquette for giving and receiving contact information so you can be remembered for the right reasons. It starts before you leave home.
