Overview of texturing

- [Instructor] Texturing, sometimes referred to as surfacing or shading is the amazing way of applying colors to your 3D object. There are two primary ways to do this. The first is to go ahead and create a material and then apply it to your object. Then using a combination of the shader editor nodes you can create a totally brand new look for your 3D object. The second is to go ahead and unwrap this 3D object and then start painting right onto it. As you're painting, you will create what is known as a texture. This texture can define any kinds of colors, but because it's not procedural, you're literally painting it. You can define the look however you want. We're going to explore both of these methods in this chapter. So without further ado, let's get texturing.
