The importance of page titles

- Page titles are useful to everyone. They are visible in the browser's window title bar or the tab and are used by default when bookmarking a page. Titles are particularly important to people like Sean and Mary who can't see the screen well or at all. Why? The title of the page is the first thing announced by a screen reader when a page loads. It's an orientation cue that lets people know what the page is about and usually confirms that they're on the website or page they expect to be on.
