- Responsive design is well known for reflowing content and parts of the page to work well at different sizes, usually known as mobile, tablet, and desktop. Those names imply too much certainty about the device that a person is using though. So many have reframed mobile, tablet, and desktop to be small, medium, and large glass. Responsive design is a huge benefit to accessibility. The most important accessibility benefit to responsive design is the conscious, intentional reflowing of content to fit appropriately in different viewport sizes. We go well beyond the fixed versus flexible width debates of old. Even when we were using flexible widths, we still ended up squishing too much content on the screen at once. Now, using responsive design techniques, we're making much smarter decisions about how we should reflow content on different sized screens.
