- All the scenarios we've reviewed so far in terms of text equivalents are pretty straightforward. It isn't always that simple though. Sometimes, a visual is part decorative, part informational, and part functional all wrapped up in one. Here's some scenarios that require a bit more thought when we're deciding how to implement a text equivalent. In each case, here's the approach that you should take. One, ask yourself what is the overall purpose of this visual? Two, ask yourself what is the best way to convey that? And three, ask yourself which parts of this visual are decorative, informational, or functional? Once you answer those questions, you'll have a better handle on what to do. In this first scenario, we'll look at the Green Thumb Lawncare locations. What's the overall purpose of the map?
