General Description
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to take on the pivotal role of Center Director at an American Job Center of California. The successful candidate will lead strategic initiatives, manage day-to-day operations, and foster a positive environment within the center. This position requires strong competencies in critical thinking, accountability, team building, emotional intelligence, developing/coaching, planning/organizing, and resilience. The Center Director will lead a team consisting of the Business Services Manager, Career Services Manager, Community Engagement Coordinator and Compliance/ Quality Assurance/Performance Manager to promote a business-driven model of job placement. The Center Director will ensure effective implementation of workforce programs and policies and serves as the face of the Center with the business community and external partners.
Responsibilities
Oversee the implementation of programs and services with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes by demonstrating a high level of accountability to stakeholders.
Efficiently allocate resources, manage budgets, and ensure the smooth execution of programs and operations.
Develop and implement strategic plans that align with organizational objectives, new opportunities with partner organizations in our current programs and outside our current business model.
Ability to analyze complex situations and make well-informed decisions.
Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and implement innovative and data-driven improvements that focus on enhancing customer service and efficiency of the system/center
Communicates a thorough knowledge of workforce development through marketing, business partnerships, research and promotion
Partner with executive leadership to solidify business model
Oversee one affiliate center
Serves as an escalation point for customer complaints and issues
Prepare weekly and monthly program reporting of system wide activities, ensure that policy, data entry, and filing requirements are met for audit and tracking purposes.
Ensure collaboration between community partners and service providers by maintaining an integrated system
Demonstrate empathy, self-awareness and strong interpersonal skills in interactions with job seekers, staff, and community partners.
Build and lead a diverse team dedicated to providing high-quality service delivery
Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment to promote teamwork and cross-functional cooperation between Career Services and Business Services teams for optimal performance
Identify opportunities for staff development and provide coaching to enhance performance.
Support continuous learning and growth within the team to build a strong culture of innovation
Navigate challenges and setbacks with resilience, maintaining a focus on achieving long-term goals.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree required, Master’s degree preferred in business administration, operations management, management science, social services, organizational development, communications, or a closely related field
Minimum 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience, and at least 2 years of experience supervising 5+ direct reports
Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to thrive in environments with multiple stakeholders, frequent change, and diverse objectives
Experience managing large scale projects and driving change initiatives, including efforts requiring process mapping, design and rollout of new operating procedures
Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferred
Excellent strategic thinking, operations, quantitative, communications and interpersonal skills
Salary: $110,000
