As the Website Manager & Strategist, you will work to create a simple, intuitive web experience that allows users to easily find and understand the information they need. You will implement strategy, develop content, and complete day-to-day management of the website to ensure an informative, accessible, and helpful digital experience.

As the Website Manager & Strategist, you will work to create a simple, intuitive web experience that allows users to easily find and understand the information they need. You will implement strategy, develop content, and complete day-to-day management of the website to ensure an informative, accessible, and helpful digital experience.
Primary Job Duties Include
Website Strategy & Content Development
- Continually evaluating website to implement strategic improvements and to identify, propose, and develop new or enhanced content, structure, and functionality
- Consulting with SCDOR subject matter experts to create, edit, and enhance content
- Overseeing the day-to-day management of dor.sc.gov, including publishing content and completing regular accessibility reviews
- Serving as the primary administrator for the website content management system
- Creating a positive, consistent digital experience for our customers through solid design, development, and UX fundamentals
- Supporting service improvement by coaching and facilitating discussions to encourage creative thinking and by testing new methods of customer-centered service delivery
- Monitoring and analyzing website analytics and metrics to make continual web content improvements
- Researching and analyzing audience needs, preferences, objectives, and methods
- Maintaining current knowledge of industry best practices, trends, and advancements
Minimum and Additional Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree and relevant experience
- Relevant experience or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR)
Preferred Qualifications
These qualifications are not required but are considered when setting a starting salary:
- Work experience in web design or writing for the web
- Experience with Drupal or other content management systems, HTML, or CSS
- Knowledge of Plain Language, AP style, or Web Content Accessibility Guidelines & Americans with Disabilities compliance
- Experience with search engine optimization

- Hours: Flexible hours may be available from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week).
- Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week.
