Warehouse Associate

Description

As a Warehouse Associate, your primary responsibility will be filling customer orders and delivering them to the staging platform in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, and productivity. Our warehouse associates are the primary staff in a working and functioning construction warehouse and will be working with lumber and building materials in an open warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in manual loading and unloading of freight with the use of a forklift in addition to general labor and general warehouse maintenance
  • Assists in moving materials and items from receiving areas to designated carts and staging areas
  • Assists in sweeping floors, clean dock area, general good hygiene of entire work area
  • Assists in aorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
  • Assists in maintaining a correct and accurate inventory
  • Assists in delivery of material to job sites
  • May be trained in the use of heavy equipment such as forklift in preparation for certification as required to move to a Freight Handler role
  • Completion of any other delegated tasks assigned by production

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, character and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma required or GED equivalent
  • 1 year of past warehouse experience
  • 1 year of ability of working with construction materials and tools
  • 1 year of ability of the application and use of power tools
  • Organizational skills, detail oriented
  • Ability to physically lift up to 75 pounds
  • Possession of a driver’s license and insurance as required by law
