About the Company:

The Vice President – Tech Product Management will collaborate closely with product management to articulate the overall strategy and corresponding technology facets for the credit union's products. Such products may be built leveraging vendor platforms or custom development work. Responsible for guiding development teams throughout the entire lifecycle, from design to delivery and ongoing operation. Regular communication with senior management to provide updates on project status, identify risks, and align with product strategy will be a key aspect of this position. Products within the span of control of the VP – Technology Product Management include, but not limited to, products such as payments, deposits, and fraud prevention.


Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development of a comprehensive products technical strategy aligned with the company's overall strategy, technology, and market dynamics.
  • Responsible for technology product ownership. Defines and prioritizes platform initiatives, features, and enhancements based on stakeholder needs, market trends, and competitive analysis. Keeps a focus on product configuration in an agile environment.
  • Collaborates closely with product management, engineering, marketing, sales, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution of platform initiatives.
  • Oversees the end-to-end development and implementation of platform solutions to deliver the products, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Works with product and program management in planning and execution of new product releases.
  • Translates high level customer needs into detailed technical requirements.
  • Works with engineering on architecture and API design.
  • Work with Technical Marketing teams on demos and product marketing teams on product positioning and messaging.
  • Establishes and monitors product platform’s performance metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Implements strategies to enhance platform performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Engages with stakeholders and gathers feedback to understand their needs, preferences, and pain points. Uses insights to inform platform enhancements and drive customer satisfaction.
  • Builds and leads a high-performing platform management team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to team members. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Manages performance-based delivery of external vendors, partners, and third-party providers involved in platform development, integration, and support.
  • Develops and manages the budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and adherence to financial goals.
  • Ensures platform compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Implements security measures and protocols to protect data and company assets.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent mix of education and experience in computer science, engineering, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA preferred.


Experience:

  • 10 years of experience in platform management, product management, or related roles, with a progressive and proven track record of success in developing and managing scalable platform solutions.
  • Extensive background encompassing multiple complete product development cycles, demonstrating exceptional analytical capabilities and sound product judgment.
  • Combination of excellent technical aptitude, problem-solving prowess, and effective communication skills.
  • At least 5 years of team management experience required. Demonstrated experience of driving results in a matrixed organization preferred.
  • Vendor performance management experience preferred.
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms and SaaS solutions preferred. Experience with on-prem solutions a plus.

Required Skills:

  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable plans and initiatives.
  • Prior experience in leading projects leveraging public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure for building products and services.
  • High-level understanding of APIs and their use in building "composable" solutions, aggregating and surfacing data from multiple sources and driving highly engaging user experiences.
  • High level understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) principles and how they can be incorporated into solutions to enhance functionality.
  • Strong understanding of agile product management methodologies and best practices.
  • Understands the Software Development Lifecyle (SDLC) and corresponding methodologies (e.g., SAFe Agile) and practices (e.g., CI/CD pipelines).
  • Understand the infrastructure and security requirements for enterprise solutions and their cost and operational impacts.
  • Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies, specifically in the financial services industry use cases and potential opportunities to leverage them.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Deep understanding of platform technologies, architecture, and development methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Strong strategic thinker with the ability to articulate the needs of today, tomorrow and the future concisely to foster team buy-in and engagement.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset.



Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Our company offers a dynamic hybrid work arrangement, which requires three days of on-site work, in the Sugar Land, TX office.
