Raising A Village Foundation leads several key initiatives designed to create positive change for children and families in underserved communities. Each program offers support and educational opportunities that promote personal growth and civic engagement. These initiatives include: Driven 2 Succeed, At the Table, and We the Village.


The Opportunity

Raising A Village Foundation is looking for a self-motivated, mission-driven, Volunteer & AmeriCorps Manager. The Volunteer and AmeriCorps Manager responsible for overseeing all aspects of RAVF’s AmeriCorps grants and volunteer programs across all divisions of the organization. This role involves grant development and management, data management, reporting, volunteer training, education, and monitoring for RAVF’s National and State AmeriCorps grant programs. The Volunteer and AmeriCorps Manager interfaces significantly with other RAVF programs and staff on all program aspects. This position works to ensure programmatic operational effectiveness, process evaluation, and staff training and oversight.

The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader and a track record of success in grants management program development, volunteer recruitment, and AmeriCorps service. This position reports directly to the Deputy Director and works closely with all members of the RAVF team, including site coordinators, school administrators, and community partners.


Essential Job Responsibilities


AmeriCorps Oversight

● Research and write new and continuation AmeriCorps grant proposals in response to funding opportunities in collaboration with RAVF leadership.

● Coordinate with and represent RAVF to AmeriCorps program officers related to awarded funding and requirements.

● Ensure organizational member evaluation and documentation that adheres to partner and organization standards and initiatives.

● Ensure policies and procedures are reviewed and updated annually.

● Monitor tracking across all RAVF divisions to ensure appropriate allocation and use of grant resources each grant year.

● Lead RAVF planning for the growth and development of AmeriCorps Program to meet organization goals and vision; lead compliance monitoring and internal auditing initiatives.

● Provide guidance and technical support to RAVF leadership and staff.


Supervision

● Hire, orient, supervise, place, evaluate and motivate AmeriCorps members and volunteers to meet department goals.

● Implement new and innovative programs for appropriate use of volunteers to enhance what RAVF Services provides.

● Supervise, support, guide, and evaluate AmeriCorps members and volunteers in managing their responsibilities and expectations.

● Track volunteer hours and activities throughout the year for incentive programs.

● Ensures all active AmeriCorps Members and volunteers maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements to include annual in-service requirements.

● Approve timesheets, PTO requests and evaluations AmeriCorps members.

● Establish weekly check-ins with each supervised staff to address questions, ensure procedures are being followed, and foster a collaborative work environment.

● Execute RAVF’s disciplinary action protocol if necessary for volunteers and AmeriCorps members.


Program Operations

● Represents RAVF at appropriate national conferences and training.

● Review, update, and document all volunteer and AmeriCorps policies and procedures to ensure ethical, safe, and well documented processes for field placements.

● Collect feedback from partners, members, sites, and staff to implement programmatic changes to create a culture of continuous improvement.

● Manage compliance for systems used by the program.

● Guarantee volunteer and AmeriCorps member activities follow project agreements requirements.

● Ensure compliance of all AmeriCorps provisions such as progress reports, data and training.

● Oversee all program summaries and related marketing/highlight materials are accurate, appropriate, and disseminated in line with RAVF.


Stakeholder Collaboration

● Develop and maintain a positive relationship with existing partners to ensure support is provided and needs are met by staff through regular check-ins and formal evaluations.

● Assist Deputy Director in reviewing and approving new projects and partnerships; processes site applications for new sites; maintains an annual 80% retention of members ensuring that all projects are completed per CNCS and partner goals.

● Lead partner communication and check-ins with all program partners.

● Oversees CRM record creation, maintenance, and use.

● Verifies that agreements and projects are properly entered into CRM and that agreements are fully executed (or approved) prior to allowing members and volunteers to begin service.


Office Administration

● Schedule weekly meetings with program staff.

● Support the processing of payroll for program staff.

● Create work schedules and assignments for members.

● Create and distribute monthly newsletter.

● Promote RAVF at community events via tabling.

Preferred

● Bachelor’s degree in education, sociology, youth development or related field that includes background on human development, community engagement. Master’s degree preferred.

● Knowledge of the AmeriCorps program and volunteer coordination.

● Exhibits the ability to effectively work on diverse teams or with a variety of populations, including those underrepresented at our organization and those of BIPOC communities.

● Experience with supervising teams in different locations.

● Working actively with a large group of external organizations on a project.



Required

● Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in volunteer management or Corps experience.

● Previous grant management experience in a non-profit setting, preferably AmeriCorps grant management experience.

● Understanding of and experience working with young adults in national service.

● Understanding of and experience using database systems and competence in using a variety of software.

● Strength in managing and supporting staff who are not direct reports.

● Entirely dependable meeting commitments, following through, working independently, and has a strong work ethic with a high degree of energy.

● Project management experience, including attention to detail, ability to support multiple projects simultaneously on deadline, and navigate alignment to broader organization priorities and strategy.

● Holds self accountable for making decisions, managing resources efficiently, achieving and role modeling values.

● Adept capacity to identify problems, recognize opportunities, and creatively devise and apply practical solutions.

● Ability, at all times, to maintain proper relational boundaries, manage appropriate relational expectations, and follow RAVF and other operative institutional protocols with youth and families in ways that model healthy relationships for all.

● Approachable, good listener, easy to talk to; builds and maintains effective relationships with colleagues, members and external partners and supporters.

● Values diversity and different people’s perspectives, able to work cross-culturally

● Displays consistent excellent judgment.

● Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

● Strong written and oral communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, G Suite, Adobe Pro, Excel, task management systems, etc.

● Willingness to travel and work nights/weekends on occasion.

● Must pass a background check.

Compensation and Benefits

This position is a hybrid, full-time position at 40 hours per week.


The annual salary for this position is $55,000-$60,000, and compensation is commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical and dental benefits, 10 days of paid vacation (increases with tenure), sick leave, floating holidays, winter holiday office closure, most federal holidays, fertility support with tenure, and 401(k) retirement program. The starting salary is based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. To counter pay inequity and uphold internal parity, we use a nonnegotiable starting salary system, while benchmarking our pay to competitive markets.
