Our client, a leading meat manufacturer, is seeking a sales executive with excellent leadership skills to create and maintain a high-performing sales culture.
As the VP of Channel Sales, you will manage, train and inspire a team of national channel sales leaders, regional sales brokers and broker network partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in selling protein and/or refrigerated food products into convenience stores, drug stores and/or dollar stores, in addition to foodservice.
This role requires travel up to 40% of the time.
Responsibilities:
Channel expertise to include : Food Service, QSR, Fast Casual, C-Store, Drug, Dollar, DIY/Farming, Distributor/Operator, Sporting Goods and Amazon
Creation, execution and reporting of tactical national channel accounts business plan to deliver assigned net sales revenue targets
Establish, monitor and manage direct reports’ performance on critical KPI’s including customer activity, consumer pipeline velocity & conversion and overall sales target achievement for each territory within assigned geography
Facilitation and performance management of account joint plans (JBP’s) to deliver national business objectives
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of product value proposition, market landscape, competitive actions and user needs across categories and departments
Build and maintain productive relationships with leadership at key end users, customer, agency, broker and distributor partners
Daily utilization of selling function capabilities to include systems, category, commerce marketing, shopper, reports and sales system to optimize time, communication and direction
Active and responsible management of financial investments related to personnel, brokers and customer funding (pricing, promotions, merchandising and media, etc.)
Act as the customer voice to provide ongoing market intelligence and competitive response options to senior management
Participate in cross-functional teams to create and implement customer-specific communications and promotions, product development, process improvement and strategic initiatives
Qualifications:
BA degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (MBA preferred)
10+ years of sales experience
Strong understanding of all CPG business functions and strategic acumen
