A key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction projects in the San Francisco area. This individual will play a critical role in driving the successful execution of projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to budgetary constraints. The VP of Construction will lead a team of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.


Responsibilities:


Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring milestones are met and projects are delivered on time.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenses, implementing cost-saving measures where possible.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution.


Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.


Stakeholder Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction with project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address client concerns and resolve issues in a timely manner.


Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that projects meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Address any quality issues or deviations from project specifications promptly and effectively.


Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans for the construction division.
  • Identify opportunities for business growth and expansion within the San Francisco market.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED) are a plus.
