Trust and Estates Paralegal

Responsibilities

  • Drafting and preparing probate filings in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia.
  • Facilitating the complete administration process of estates and trusts, including asset sales and transfers.
  • Completing Federal and State estate tax returns.
  • Ensuring efficient and timely management of all estate and trust administration tasks.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or a Paralegal certificate.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities, with a proficiency in client and professional interactions.
  • In-depth knowledge of probate and trust administration procedures.
  • Advanced computer literacy, specifically in probate tax and accounting software (GEMS preferred), with EVP, iManage, and Microsoft Office being advantageous.
  • A keen eye for detail, capability to handle a substantial caseload, strong mathematical skills, and a basic understanding of estate and income tax principles.
  • A collaborative work ethic, able to engage effectively with attorneys and support personnel.
