TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

We are seeking a highly motivated/initiative-taking Training and development Specialist with entrepreneurial spirit to join our team. In this role, the ideal candidate will play a key part in enhancing the competencies of our employees by developing and delivering training programs that align with the agency’s goals and core values. This person will be responsible for conducting training needs assessments, designing engaging curriculum and learning materials, and overseeing all aspects of training interventions.
The primary objective will be to boost workplace performance and drive professional growth within the agency. As a Training Specialist, the incumbent will collaborate with various stakeholders to identify training gaps and develop targeted solutions to address them. S/he will also be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and making necessary adjustments to ensure continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role, the candidate must have a strong passion for learning and development, excellent instructional design skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and engage with employees at all levels of the organization. Creativity, diligence, and organizational abilities will be critical in delivering impactful training initiatives at all levels.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Identify training needs by evaluating strengths and weaknesses.
- Translate requirements into training that will groom employees for their current and next step of their career path.
- Build annual training program/calendar and prepare teaching plans to share with leadership and teams.
- Develop or oversee the production of training handouts, instructional materials, aids, and manuals.
- Direct structured learning experiences and monitor their quality results.
- Help acclimatize new hires to our business and co-conduct orientation sessions to meet new employees and build relationships for training purposes and overall success of future learning.
- Assess training effectiveness to ensure taught skills and techniques are incorporated into employees’ work behavior.
- Periodically evaluate ongoing training programs to ensure that they reflect appropriate changes and stay abreast of current trends and tools in employee development.
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience in professionally designing multiple training events.
- Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principles and ability to master the full training cycle required.
- Adequate knowledge of learning management software
- Knowledge of traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques
- Ability to successfully present complex information to a variety of audiences.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills: Communication - Organization - and Adaptability.
- Proficiency in MS Office and in database software
- Bachelor’s degree Psychology, social science, communications, education, or related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience in the IDD field preferred.
