Purpose of the Position: The KnoxWorx Trainer is a full-time position with a focus on helping program participants develop skills and gain credentials in KnoxWorx’s multiple training initiatives
Responsibilities & Organization

Essential Functions
Provide quality instruction and supervision to program participants in a variety of training environments to include job readiness and soft skill development, industry specific trainings (ie: Construction, Culinary etc.), On-The-Job Training, and High School Equivalency (HiSet) education.
Provide training in a variety of KnoxWorx training environments to include: KnoxWorx Training Center, Classroom, Worksite, Knox County Detention Center (pre-release), Day Reporting Center.
Provide trauma informed teaching with an understanding that trauma can impact learning and behavior and work to find ways to better support students who may be experiencing trauma.
Maintain classroom and worksite behavioral expectations and effectively address behavioral issues when needed.
Daily mentoring, life coaching with program participants.
Maintain and track progress, assessing participant skill development through program completion.
Small class size with an average of 10-25 students.
Coordinate with KLF case managers and local service providers for referral services.
Participate in case management meetings providing observations of students’ strengths and weaknesses, including discipline and de-escalation meetings w student\staff.
Function as part of a team, integrating education and credential training with leadership development and life skills components of the program.
Employ a variety of materials, techniques, and technology to help learners improve important workplace skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and working as a member of a team.
Participation in all appropriate staff meetings, retreats, etc. as assigned by your supervisor
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent teaching experience of young adults and adults with barriers to employment
