Job Title: Technician II

Client: Medical Device Manufacturing Company

Duration: 12 months with possible extension

Location: Brooklyn Park, MN 55428

Shift: 1st Shift

Job Description:

This technician will support the PFAS project team, primarily focusing on CAD work, including updating and redesigning drawings and models to accommodate PFAS material changes. The role also involves hands-on support for testing activities in the R&D lab.

Top 3 Required Skills:

  • CAD Experience: Preferably with Creo.
  • Experience with Laboratory Test Equipment and Methods: Such as leak testers, pull testers, and microscopes.
  • Experience in Molding and the medical device industry would also be: Preferred but not required

Technical Skills:

Must Have:

  • Ability to troubleshoot design issues.
  • Develop and evaluate designs meeting defined product requirements.
  • Experience with laboratory test equipment and methods.
  • Proven experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks and/or Creo.

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of FDA and ISO 13485:2003 for managing medical device materials, related processes, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Understanding and experience in injection molding of medical devices, thermoplastic part design, and testing.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, layout, draw, and revise detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings.
  • Utilize CAD, CAM, CATIA, ProEngineer, or SolidWorks.
  • Complete details of major layout drawings per standard engineering drafting practices.
  • Determine scaling; insert necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning.
  • Prepare specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations.
  • Contribute design modifications to improve product quality or facilitate manufacturing operations.
  • Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.
  • Conduct tests and report data in the prescribed format.
  • Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
  • Prepare prescribed compounds and solutions.

Technician Support Career Stream:

  • Provide technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement, or product development.
  • Use schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment, or systems.
  • Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data using established formulae and procedures; perform detailed mathematical calculations.
  • Suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Basic job knowledge of systems, techniques, and procedures obtained through prior work experience or education.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
