Summary

You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the Global Deterrence Defense Dept (GX), Strategic Microelectronics Division (GXM), Business Operations Branch (GXMD) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $134,435).

Current permanent employees of Org Code GX within UIC 00164, DoD Military Spouse Preference (MSP) eligibles, DoD Military Reserve (MR) and National Guard (NG) Technician Preference eligibles and DoD Retained Grade Preference eligibles, and VEOA eligibles.

Duties

  • You will interpret facility drawings and datasheets to develop procurement plans and long term POAMs for facility development.
  • You will plan facility/equipment interfaces.
  • You will review project plans and schedules.
  • You will coordinate communication up and down management chain and with project stakeholders.
  • You will ensure expedient/correct execution to project timelines and plans.
  • You will provide leadership guidance, task management and delegation, as required; 8) Provide effective decision-making solutions, results, and analysis through written and oral reporting.
  • You will provide radiation equipment contract execution oversite as COR and/or AOR.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent grade level) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and implementing technical engineering methods and techniques to lead projects involving microelectronic systems and component performance or reliability to resolve deficiencies and provide expertise to enable mitigation of risks to system reliability and performance.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.

ICTAP Applicants: To be considered well-qualified and exercise selection priority as an ICTAP candidate, displaced Federal employees must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a rating in the highly qualified category (score 85) or higher. ICTAP candidates must provide copies of all of the following documentation at the time of application: 1) agency notice; 2) most recent performance appraisal; and 3) most recent SF-50 or notification of personnel action that includes position, grade level, and duty location.
