Technical Account Manager - 974

Our client, based in Leesburg, Virginia is a leading technology services company focused on providing operationally focused solutions for select clientele within the United States Government (USG). Their Finance and Accounting Team is seeking a Technical Accounting to assist with monthly and annual consolidated financial reporting requirements. They are looking for a candidate who has a solid understanding of current U.S. GAAP, an ability to research complex technical accounting topics, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and able to work independently and follow up on action items.

This position is on-site in Leesburg, VA.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Analyze unique transactions and prepare technical accounting memos to document accounting treatment conclusions to ensure proper accounting and disclosure.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather the required data for analysis.
• Monitor and assess the impact of new accounting and disclosure requirements and lead the implementations as applicable to the company.
• Take the lead on specific initiatives, including accounting for business combination purchase accounting, goodwill and intangibles, revenue recognition and consolidations.
• Interact with external auditors to respond to information requests and inquiries to ensure that the annual audits are completed on time.
• Assist in maintaining and improving internal processes and controls compliance.
• Provide support on various special projects as assigned by management including assistance with project cost analysis and related financial presentations.
• Assist in collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop implementation strategies to streamline processes and enhance financial reporting capabilities.
• Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and government contracting requirements, and ensure system configurations and processes remain compliant and up-to-date

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with financial reporting requirements in compliance with GAAP.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field with CPA.
• 5-7 years of experience with leadership in an accounting or finance function of a high performing technology firm.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills with an ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
• Possess the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government-issued security clearance.
• Must be willing to work full time in our Leesburg, Virginia office.

These Qualifications are a Plus:

• Current or previous experience with a federal government contractor and/or technology companies.
• Previous public accounting experience a plus.
