Position Summary
Under general supervision, the System Support Technician utilizes their expertise to provide
comprehensive hardware and software support across the SAU 16 district. This role involves resolving
hardware, software, and communication issues while interacting with students, staff and other
stakeholders, recommending inventory stock, and maintaining strict control over supplies, parts, and
equipment.

Essential Duties
Investigates, analyzes, and resolves hardware and software problems involving SAU 16
technology.
Performs hardware repairs and maintenance on a wide range of PC and Apple products, and
Google Chromebook computers and peripherals.
Provides technical assistance to students and staff.
Offers advanced hardware technical assistance and network support; troubleshoots and
resolves system hardware, software, conflicts.
Evaluates existing systems hardware, and performs system upgrades based on student and staff
needs; customizes and tests computer systems; and resolves configuration conflicts and errors.
Installs, integrates, and configures new systems and hardware for users.
Reviews, prioritizes, and processes problem reports documenting progress.
Maintains a high-level quality of customer service standards in responding to questions and
support requests.
Set up and install projectors as needed, and assist with AV issues in classrooms.
Effectively manage the inventory of technology equipment and software using asset
management software with thoroughness and accuracy.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Knowledge of various computer systems software applications, hardware, and communications.
Ability to perform advanced repairs and upgrades on a wide variety of computers and
peripherals.
Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving a range of computer problems.
Experience installing and configuring computer systems, hardware, and peripherals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
Ability to handle the stress of customer service.
Strong problem-solving skills for efficient diagnosis and resolution of technical issues.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Ability to lift, push or pull objects up to 50 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders.
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

Travel to school district locations to repair hardware, install software and assist end users.

walk, and sit. The employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear. The employee is regularly
required to use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel. The employee is regularly required to reach with
hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Employee must occasionally move equipment and/or supplies..
The job is performed for the most part in an office or school setting with occasional outside weather
conditions. The noise level is that of a typical school. Mental demands requiring decision making,
analytical and organizational skills in order to achieve work objectives, draw daily operational
conclusions, solve practical problems, use computer technology and to present information for use by
administration in making decisions.

2-4 years of directly related experience
A+ Certification or equivalent experience
