The Success Coach is responsible for coaching perspective and First Time In College (FTIC) students through the enrollment process by providing guidance with education planning and career pathway selection.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements*
Conducts pre-enrollment workshops
Educates students on the steps necessary to complete the enrollment process
Works closely with the Registrar and Financial Aid offices to assist students who are entering the College
Utilizes career and education tools to assist students with career information related to students’ interests and aptitudes (e.g., MyPlan, Career Coach)
Aids students with career pathway selection by answering questions, providing information, and including other support when necessary
Educates students on the academic program steps necessary to successfully complete a certificate or degree program, including how to utilize and navigate online systems and campus information and resources
Provides information regarding student life opportunities, including student activities and organizations on campus as well as other campus resources
Assists in retention activities of the college by supporting advising, counseling services, transfer or career events, etc.
Coordinates and presents workshops (i.e., financial literacy, study skills, etc.) for all students
Service Excellence
Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or an equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and work-related experience
Preferred Qualifications
At least one (1) year’s experience working with First Year Experience programs in a community college environment
At least one (1) year’s experience working with career interest inventory testing procedures and outcomes
Multilingual in language(s) beyond English
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships including strong listening, verbal, and written communication
Skilled in using computer applications and enterprise systems, including the Microsoft Office suite
Ability to work flexible hours that may include evenings and weekends
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse and urban

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
