, Job Description

The Production Artist takes responsibility for the internal development of production artwork for customer accounts, specifically those requiring 24-hour turnaround time on the artwork. This role coordinates internal production artwork and projects relating to a Retail Brand Owner (RBO) in line with agreed global pricing and deployment strategies and in line with the global production artwork guidelines. The Production Artist modifies and leads redesigns of existing branding concepts and ensures the proactive development and delivery of creative products in alignment with customer strategy. Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accurate interpretation of the customer’s art-based requirements (new projects and existing)
  • Take ownership for production projects through to completion within agreed timeline
  • Support of global and local Customer Product Development (CPD), Sales, and Business Development strategies
  • Development of customer (RBO) artwork utilizing the internal processes such as OFE, PDM, FTP and customers systems and deployment protocols; Work within the Global Production Art standards
  • On-site support for the customer in their developments, cleaning and setting up for print of customer artwork following global standards
  • Organize and take ownership for all elements required for development of artwork and associated components, including artwork proofs, samples, mock -ups and toolkits
  • Develop and apply a deep understanding of all printing processes and techniques, materials and substrates used in RBO developments; Follow current trends and be familiar with new production techniques
  • Maintain a constant line of communication and provide relevant information to internal colleagues to drive the development process; Keep internal colleagues informed of any changes such as new product developments, integrated workflows, RBO brand changes and timelines
  • Maintain a constant line of communication with the Sr. Production Artist, Customer Product Development (CPD) Specialist and Global Account Director (Sales) regarding current projects and timelines

, Qualifications

  • BA in Graphic Design or related field strongly preferred
  • 2+ year of experience in production/pre-press required
  • Advanced knowledge of graphics programs, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign and to be efficient on Mac platform
  • Experience producing production art for specific area assigned, such as offset, flexo, printed fabric labels, woven labels and/or heat transfer labels
  • Very high degree of visual attention and accuracy skills to read, interpret, apply, and utilize colors, details, font sizes, label sizes
  • Medium level of PC proficiency required, including Microsoft Office, Gmail and Internet
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of production tolerances (internal and external) and be able to manipulate files to meet these specs
  • Skill in understanding, performing, and applying calculations necessary to complete work and utilize software applications, such as amounts, proportions, percentages, surface area, circumference, quantities, etc
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from co-workers and management, as well as from sales or customers as needed
  • Skills in effectively planning and organizing own work and managing time to complete work according to tight schedules
  • Basic presentation design skills such as board cutting, gluing and layout
  • Interacting with customers during design and production discussions
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize while working within deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
