If you answered yes to these questions, then you might be the perfect candidate for our Trucking Company Sr. Director of Commercial Auto Liability Claims and Litigation role.


We are seeking a seasoned candidate to fill the roll Sr. Director of Commercial Auto Liability Claims and Litigation. This position requires you to work in office and assume the responsibilities of overseeing and managing all aspects of the company’s Commercial Auto Liability claims and litigation portfolio, including strategy, budget, staffing, and performance. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as senior management, insurance carriers, defense counsel, plaintiffs’ attorneys, and regulatory agencies, to ensure the company’s interests are protected and advanced. You will also monitor and analyze industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues, and provide guidance and recommendations to the company on how to mitigate risks and optimize results.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Transportation Auto Liability Claim handling including the intake of accident calls during working hours as well as scheduled days for after hour calls.
  • Manage the claim investigation to determine at fault or contribution.
  • Manage litigation with lawyers on discovery, interrogatories, production of documents, and preservation of documentation for litigation.
  • Oversee the subrogation of Commercial Transportation Auto Liability claims.
  • Oversee and manage insurance loss fund reimbursements.
  • Determine and manage the involvement of 3rd party claims adjusters during accident handling.
  • Manage post-accident Drug & Alcohol testing process to meet FMCSA requirements.


To qualify for this role, you must have:

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in Trucking Commercial Auto Liability claims and litigation, preferably in the trucking industry or a related sector.
  • Experience managing “Trucking Auto Liability Claims” from start to closure.
  • A proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of claims and litigation professionals.
  • A strong knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment affecting the trucking industry, including, FMCSA Requirements.
  • A demonstrated skill in negotiating, resolving, and litigating complex and high-value claims, involving multiple parties and jurisdictions.
  • A high level of analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
