Sr. Production Designer

Creative Department

Reports to: Studio Manager

Job Summary

The Senior Production Designer ensures standards are met for all Studio functions and collaborates with Creative, Project Management, and Editorial teams to ensure files meet spec and timing requirements across all brands and office locations. They maintain client quality control processes set by the Studio Manager, while fostering a collaborative team environment. In this hybrid role, you will be expected to spend a minimum of 2 days per week on-site at a Calcium+Company office or client location.

Key Job Responsibilities (Duties may include, but are not limited to all or some of the following)

  • Work strategically with capabilities across the organization, particularly with Creative Teams and Project Management to maintain accuracy and efficiency in creative file updates, and creation
  • Create and edit high-volume print and digital assets for the pharmaceutical industry
  • Serve as subject matter expert on print production, prepress requirements, and assembly of production-ready mechanical files
  • Demonstrate strong adherence to proper color spaces and the difference between spot and process printing
  • Ensure a high level of Quality Control across all work released
  • Comply with Agency, Regulatory, and Client guidelines as they evolve
  • Provide file oversight and support to the Creative team as needed throughout the project life cycle
  • Work closely with Production/Purchasing to maintain proper licensing protections

Job Qualifications (Skills/Requirements)

  • Knowledge of design software:
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat and Microsoft Powerpoint
  • Mid-level knowledge of Figma, Sketch and/or Adobe XD
  • Experience editing and creating light animation in After Effects is a huge plus
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience preparing print and digital files specifically for release, maintaining accuracy of brand guidelines across multiple clients and collateral;
  • this may include print, web, media and OOH/Tradeshow/Conference materials
  • Ability to prioritize efficiently and work well in a team
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to creatively problem solve and hunt for information
  • The ability to read schematics and proofreading symbols
  • Desire to learn and grow into new responsibilities as the studio evolves
  • Must be able to work on-site a minimum of 2 days per week in a Calcium+Company office or client location
  • Beneficial to this role but not required:
  • Experience supporting production shoots [sourcing props, coordinating shot lists]
