The following position is open: Sr. Payroll and Benefits Specialist

Location: On-site in Jessup, MD; Carson City, NV; or Hybrid in the Denver Metro

Travel: Occasional (less than 25%)

As the Payroll and Benefits Administrator, you are responsible for the administration of enterprise payroll and benefits activities. This role will work in close coordination with HR and Finance to manage the design, implementation, administration, evaluation, and communication around compensation and benefit activities.

What You’ll Do (Essential Job Functions):

  • Processes multi-site payroll timely, accurately, and in compliance with local, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Process, audit, and verify all applicable payroll deductions, garnishments, earnings, and accruals.
  • Lead, ensure, and verify compliance with established financial, legal and/or administrative requirements.
  • Lead, verify, and verify compliance and submission of applicable tax documents.
  • Prepare general journal entries related to the payroll and benefits for posting to the General Ledger.
  • Research discrepancies of payroll information and/or documentation as needed.
  • Conduct benefit audits, analysis, and reconciliation.
  • Lead and facilitate benefits administration, including 401(k) administration.
  • Lead and facilitate required benefit tax filing and reporting activities.
  • Support benefit design
  • Lead benefit administration.
  • Provide auxiliary support to HR initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring (Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Certified Payroll Professional preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in ADP Workforce Now.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Strong communication, accountability, and prioritization skills

Your Experience (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of responsible payroll and benefits administration.
    • Experience must include responsibility with tax handling.
    • Experience must include multi-state payroll processing.
    • Experience must include administering payroll through ADP.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline preferred, but not required.
  • Must provide proof of US Citizenship or Permanent Residency to comply with ITAR requirements.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen per Vitesse Systems’ drug testing policy.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check per Vitesse Systems’ policy.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

The manufacturing facility may expose workers to loud noises, chemicals, and other occupational hazards; personal protective equipment may be provided by The Company and at request.

Job Information:

This is a full-time, permanent position. This position is eligible for the employer-sponsored benefits listed under "Vitesse Systems is Proud to Offer." This position is considered exempt (paid on a salaried basis and ineligible for overtime pay).

Pay range: $80,000-110,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.
