Accounting at Brex

The Accounting team at Brex ensures that we have perfect financial reporting, but even more so, we serve as beta testers and power users of Brex’s financial products, providing analysis and feedback prior to product releases. Not only are we responsible for maintaining accurate books and records, we are also deeply passionate about automation and partner closely with the Engineering team to implement technological improvements.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will partner primarily with the People team to drive the technology roadmap, build robust integrations, and ensure that our data is high quality and reliable. You will also wear multiple hats, and be part integrations expert, part business systems analyst, part subject matter expert (SME) on people systems, and part technical project manager.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively partner with People Operations and other business leaders to meet evolving business requirements and lead system enhancement opportunities. This includes supporting requirements, design, configuration, and testing of system solutions to improve the employee experience and operations
  • Lead systems integration design and builds, identifying issues/risks, and monitoring/maintenance
  • Act as a solution domain expert, product owner, and technical support by understanding system implications, identifying gaps/opportunities, and recommending/implementing system solutions for adoption
  • Lead the biannual R1 and R2 Workday system releases including testing, adoption of functionality, and impact analysis
  • Lead, develop, and maintain simple to complex reports/calculated fields utilizing Workday and additional data sources to support the delivery of clear, insightful reports and dashboards
  • Lead and support testing activities throughout the QA lifecycle
  • Create and maintain detailed HRIS documentation for internal and external stakeholder use
  • Keep up to date with the latest knowledge, capabilities, and trends within our HRIS platforms

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience across one or more domains (i.e HCM Core, Compensation, Payroll/Absence, Benefits)
  • Knowledge and experience of Workday reports including building, maintaining, and rolling out to end users
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and HR data
  • Strong consulting skills (analytical, project management, problem solving, and ability to influence)
  • Comfortable working with data and savvy in Excel
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced and high-growth environment, and excitement to roll up your sleeves and contribute to all parts of the People Operations/HR function
  • Comfortable navigating the gray and being resourceful
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — you are organized and great at ensuring everyone’s on the same page
  • Strong personal accountability for high quality work and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Have the initiative and desire for ongoing learning, innovation, and developing skills/functional expertise in new areas
  • Must be willing to work in office 2 days per week on Wednesday and Thursday

  • Experience with Workday Payroll
  • Experience working in organizations with global presence
  • Experience working in non-Workday applications such as Lattice, Visier, Greenhouse, etc., that integrate closely with Workday
  • Experience with Workday Extend

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $161,928 - $202,410. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
