Who We’re Looking For - Reporting to the Executive Director, Creative Strategy & Insights, we are seeking a Senior Consumer Insights Manager, Product to join our dynamic and growing team. This role is pivotal in leading consumer research initiatives aimed at driving new product innovations, identifying unmet needs and exploring new market opportunities. This candidate will be a leading force in developing strategic and actionable consumer insights that fuel growth for the company. This person will also partner with department leaders and stakeholders across the company. In this role you will impact the overall business strategy, brand strategy, product development strategy, and content strategy as you uncover and present insights that lead to critical decisions for the company.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in leading the organization in becoming more strategic and consumer centric by representing the ‘Voice of the Consumer’ backed by strong knowledge and expert market research fundamentals 
  • Inform and execute a comprehensive research agenda that aligns with the company’s strategic priorities and innovation pipeline–integrating insights into the product development process, from ideation to launch 
  • Lead end-to-end consumer research projects, with a meticulous eye and guided intent, to identify and uncover customer pain points, articulate unmet needs, and reveal white space opportunities with an eye towards product differentiation and market disruption 
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to anticipate industry shifts and identify future growth opportunities 
  • Inform market sizing and market forecasting initiatives, leveraging reputable market data sources to be utilized by leadership, product development and finance to appropriately weigh, prioritize and fund potential investment opportunities 
  • Utilize deep awareness of industry trends, consumer behaviors, and the overall competitive landscape to inform key business decisions related to product innovation in both powered devices and formulations 
  • Provide strategic guidance and insights to support the development of new products and in the marketing and messaging of our products 
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the consumer product experience and partner with key leaders to execute on those strategies 
  • Provide Excel power user experience and knowledge to the Consumer Insights team at large 
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience in product innovation, consumer research, insights, or strategy, preferably within a fast-paced, innovative industry 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Market Research, Psychology, Sociology, Business or a related field preferred
  • Expertise in product innovation research with a proven track record in uncovering unmet customer needs and/or further dimensionalizing need states, both of which have led to new products or features/benefits being introduced into the market 
  • Expertise in developing and presenting customer and category stories across multiple data sources including quantitative/qualitative research, primary/secondary research, and trend reports. This includes leveraging and utilizing best practices in advanced data analysis, data visualization and customer journey approaches 
  • Ability to translate research into strategy and deliver actionable consumer insights to the Leadership Team to drive both short-term and long-term business growth and strategic decisions  
  • Experience in designing, fielding, analyzing and presenting large-scale research in a consumable format, tailored to various audiences
  • Experience leading both qualitative and quantitative research in domestic and international markets 
  • Foundational understanding of marketing in consumer product goods with knowledge of brand building and creating consumer centric brands 
  • Strong product innovation knowledge with experience in both the front-end and back-end innovation process and product development  
  • Experience in leading consumer focus groups and facilitation of insights into strategic actions 
  • Experience with vetting new vendors, negotiating legal contracts, and establishing successful working relationships with third parties to optimize research performance 
  • Excellent data and analytics background to help guide the organization towards growth 
  • Power user of Excel in both data analysis and data visualization capacities 
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills to convey results to company leaders 
  • Excellent relationship building skills to foster great working relationships with external partners and internal cross-functional teams 
  • Strong track record of exceeding performance goals and motivating teams to do the same 
  • Strong knowledge of international consumer markets 
  • Knowledge or experience in this men’s self-care industry is a plus 

Compensation Range

$122,000—$128,000 USD
