By joining us as an Agile Practitioner and Coach, you will play a key role in helping to evolve our current business processes into a more streamlined, effective, and outcome-based process that reflects our customer needs and the workflow that best serves their evolving needs.

Location / Schedule:

We operate with a hybrid model of three days per week in office and two days per week remote. Though we are open to the location of this role being in Jersey City (NJ) or Whitehouse Station (NJ), we will ask that you travel to our Jersey City office once per week on Tuesdays for broader team meetings.

In this role, you will use a hands-on approach to :

  • Drive adoption of Agile processes and culture in the organization, focusing on ways of working, tools, and mindsets (can coach up to 4+ teams, depending on complexity)
  • Coach and support product owners, team members, and others in learning and living effective Agile practices, lead or facilitate Scrum ceremonies, facilitate gradual team adoption and independence through transparency, retrospectives, interventions, and adaptation.
  • Bring an ownership mindset to the solutions your teams are supporting, including technical solutions that are maintainable and scalable as well as robust business process ideas to aide swift and efficient adoption of changes.
  • Apply flow-based metrics to derive meaningful actions.
  • Remove or escalate impediments (e.g., cultural barriers, logistic challenges, coordination with other teams) and foster close cooperation and communication across all team members to ensure the teams are functional and productive.
  • Drive with DLs/POs and squads on their day-to-day progress towards strategic priorities and delivery capabilities in incremental and iterative cycles. Specifically, to define effective objectives based on the business value drivers, formulate domain mission, translate them into clear, specific squad key results and align them to product backlog and roadmaps with focus on enhancing ways of working.
  • Leverage working knowledge of insurance, digital enterprise and agility to lead the development of innovative and effective practices.
  • Identify and implement industry practices to improve our digital first ways of working.
  • Create and execute need based trainings to enable Digital first enterprise.
  • Lead improvements in the key aspects of digital first operating model such as frameworks, processes, tools and practices
  • Drive organizational change management activities by hosting sessions such as lean coffee, learning corners, etc.

Qualifications

  • 5+ year implementation experience with Agile techniques: Scrum (backlog management, planning, retro, reviews), Kanban, value stream mapping, design thinking, empathy mapping, customer journey mapping, design thinking, defining MVPs and roadmaps.
  • Had played a key role in large-scale product transformations in designing and executing operating models focused on customer needs
  • 3+ years successful software development and launches using Scrum/Kanban in role as Agile Coach, Product Owner, or Agile Lead
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile Development, with specific Agile Coaching experience, or Agile lead experience
  • Prior experience working with senior executives and proven ability to effectively communicate and influence senior executives in decisions critical to adoption and implementation of Agile practice.
  • Experience with large-scale software delivery and/or Agile transformation at scale in large enterprise employing software engineering including XP, BDD, DevOps, Test Driven Development, Automated Testing
  • Solid understanding of and experience with DORA metrics and their impact on DevOps in the enterprise
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in business or related field (Computer Science Background is a plus)
  • Agile certifications (Scrum@scale, ICE-AC, ICP-ACC, SAFe™, PAM, LeSS)

In Jersey City, NJ and New York, NY the pay range for the role is $101,000 to $172,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. This range is specific to Jersey City, NJ and may not be applicable to other locations.
