Job Title: Scientific - Laboratory Technician Lv1

Client: Food Manufacturing Company

Duration: 5 Months

Location: Elk River, MN 55330

Shift: Mon to Fri, 6:30 am-3:00 pm CST (Sometimes Saturday - Half day; approximately 1 Saturday per month)

Job Title: Processing Technician

Position Overview:

• Receive and process lab samples.
• Evaluate and report results.
• Retain samples per policy.
  
  

Principle Accountabilities:

• Process samples: receive, sort, label, grind.
• Perform tests: NIR scanning, dry matter, pH, particle size.
• Store, dispose, and relocate samples.
• Follow safety policies and housekeeping.
  
  

Required Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years work experience.
• Ability to work overtime and Saturdays.
  
  

Miscellaneous Notes:

• Wear leather shoes.
• No contact lenses in lab.
• Clean shave for respirator tasks.
• Handle potential allergens: milk, peanuts, eggs, nuts, soy, gluten, fish, shellfish.
  
  

Job Description:

• Perform routine analytical and laboratory testing to support food safety quality and operational teams.
• Conduct routine analysis of product testing, monitor instrumentation performance, and conduct tests with intermediate supervision.
• Document results into databases and communicate test results.
• Develop food/feed safety, quality, and regulatory culture by collaborating cross-functionally.
• Run calibration checks, preventive maintenance tasks, and simple repairs on analytical instrumentation, and maintain customer specifications books.
• Interpret and document test results in databases and communicate results to internal customers.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and adherence to procedural compliance.
• Conduct routine quantitative and qualitative inspections and laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process, and final products independently; support complex trials and experiments under intermediate supervision.
• Handle clerical, administrative, technical, or customer support issues under general supervision, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence.
  
  

Skills:

• Proficiency in Excel and/or Bit lab experience.
