As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Scientific Applications Programmer to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Data Buoy Center (NDBC).
Background in requirements analysis, software design, development and implementation, including real-time data acquisition and processing, data communications, and scientific and business applications.
Experience with relational database systems, familiar with open systems hardware and software.
Experience using best-practice programming methods and secure coding techniques are required.
Specific experience in C++, Java and/or LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP).
Familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus, along with cloud development experience.
BS/BA Computer Science, Programming, Software Engineering, or related fields
