RACF Mainframe Cyber Security Lead

The DET Bureau of Security is hiring a RACF mainframe security expert!

This position will have the option of working remotely upon agreement of the supervisor but will be asked to come into the office periodically. This schedule may change based on operational needs and organizational requirements.

Position Summary

Under the general review of the DOA/DET CISO, this position functions as lead mainframe cyber security technical expert of the State of Wisconsin's enterprise technology environment. The enterprise mainframe infrastructure includes mainframe hardware, operating systems, storage management, system management software, data backup, system software, database management software, applications, application development infrastructure and security.

This position provides high-level customer service and consulting support for a broad any of services. The position also will participate in and lead projects from genesis through implementation and completion. The incumbent will frequently work on projects and tasks that require strong customer service skills, good communication skills and the ability to work within a team approach. The position also involves implementing, maintaining, and using many new mainframe technologies. The ability to function with an enterprise prospective and advise technical staff, DET management, and other entities' staff on technical design and business issues is critical.

Salary Information

Starting hourly rate for the IS Enterprise Technical Services Consultant Administrator position will be between $39.04 - $58.19 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. This classification is assigned to pay schedule/range 07-32. Current State employees will be compensated in accordance with the current State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct fingerprinting and/or background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.

Employees are expected to work and live in Wisconsin. Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. This topic and any remote work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified candidates will have experience with all the following:

  • Experience with the install, configure test, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise mainframe identity and access management tools such as RACF and Z-Secure
  • Experience working with business stakeholders and designing and/or implementing solutions to meet the business needs
  • Experience with developing implementing, and testing disaster recovery procedures
  • Experience with scripting such as JCL and REXX
