Quant Data Analyst

Verition Fund Management LLC ("Verition") is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund founded in 2008. Verition focuses on global investment strategies including Global Credit, Global Convertible, Volatility & Capital Structure Arbitrage, Event-Driven Investing, Equity Long/Short & Capital Markets Trading, and Global Quantitative Trading.

We are seeking a Quantitative Data Analyst to work on one of our systematic equities trading teams. Ideally we are looking for someone with a strong background in programming and data management to join our team in New York City. This role is pivotal in integrating data-driven insights to support portfolio managers and quantitative analysts. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in Python, SQL, and other programming languages, along with experience handling large, unstructured datasets and alternative data sources.

Responsibilities:

• Leverage Python, SQL, and other programming languages to develop data pipelines, ensure the data is clean and in the right format, if there is an issue reach out the vendor and find out what happened.
• Utilize Redshift, Snowflake, and Databricks to manage and analyze data from major vendors such as Bloomberg, S&P, FactSet, and Refinitiv. Apply advanced data manipulation techniques to extract meaningful insights.
• Identify and evaluate potential alpha sources from diverse data sets. Present findings and recommendations to portfolio managers and quantitative analysts to inform investment decisions.
• Organize tasks and projects efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are of high quality. Maintain rigorous attention to detail and adherence to established processes.
• Clearly communicate insights, methodologies, and results to the team.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated expertise in Python, SQL, and proficiency in another programming language (e.g., R, Java, C++).
• Experience working with major financial data vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, S&P, FactSet, Refinitiv) and alternative data sets.
• Proficiency in using cloud-based data platforms such as Redshift, Snowflake, and Databricks for data management and analysis.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and a passion for process optimization.

Salary Range

$120,000—$180,000 USD
